I can’t figure out what’s going on with my internet. I have xfinity and they actually just came out and replaced the router with a new one as the old one just wasn’t giving off a good signal. The tech that was here that said everything else was great as far as the coax connection and speeds coming in.
WiFi is terrible. I can’t play Fortnite on my ps5 because it lags too much. Even when hooked with a Ethernet connection straight to the router. I’m trying to stream a NHL hockey game right now and it’s unbelievably bad quality and is stopping and starting and buffering at least every 2 minutes. (FUBO TV app if that helps at all)
So what I have going on:
-Xfinity internet plan 1200 download and 200 upload speeds
-A Deco mesh system with 3 nodes throughout the house
I feel like once I set something up it works GREAT. Then the next day it’s back to old junky setup. I don’t get it.
I currently have the isp router wired to the main node and I’ve tried to use the additional Ethernet port on the deco and that is no different than plugging it straight to isp router
I still have the isp routers wifi on- would that make THAT much of a difference? To have the two wifi systems setup the way I do? I’ve heard of putting it into bridge mode but can I do that and everything be fine with just having the mesh system setup?
What in the world do I need to do to get this internet working properly? Thanks so much in advance!
You said it works great for a day or so whenever you set up something new - that’s probably a good clue. What steps do you take only when setting up something new?
I would try rebooting various parts of your network one at a time to see if it resets the ‘one day timer’ and starts working well again. Once you narrow down what’s giving out after a day, you can move forward with replacing or bypassing that thing.
