Visited one of the Experience stores in NY (as opposed to a pop-up location) to confirm some features and buy in person Watch 6 and Galaxy Tab 8 or 9.

Watch:

To buy thru the trade in promo- combining all the steps in one.

  1. They’ll sell you 6- at the promo price, no issue with this- but will not take the trade-in, you still have to mail it in.
  2. Will not print you return label, you’re on your own to print it from order confirm debt to email.
  3. Only sell WiFi variants.
  4. “Only carriers sell cellular variants, and third party stores will only sell cellular variant tied to a specific carrier signup”. I’m not sure I believe all that esp the latter.

Tab:

  1. They could not confirm that Tab has native call & text, not just from Link to Phone. It know it does, but I wanted to confirm it’s not a case where only Int. variants have it & NA variants don’t.
  2. Ditto #3 above, so couldn’t even physically confirm.
  3. Ditto #4 above. Why buy locked model unable to immediately use at carrier of choice. And checking at carrier not bulletproof because sometimes a specific carrier will add software to permit calling (where it didn’t natively exist)- Surface tablet & iPad two examples, or as with some Android tablets, will remove native calling & SMS from the firmware.

Two-story location with limited stock chock full of employees socializing with each other explain$ price$.

Pay high, without all the features you want, without confirming all the specs, and not in person unless you accept locked to a specific carrier, and jump through hoops plus waste trip to brand store to do so.
