1. We go long stretches where seemingly no one can make a shot. Hield was especially bad tonight. We need a strategy for when this happens. Occasionally, we try to go to Miles in the post, and this does seem to work for a reliable bucket or two. I would love to see Benn take on this role also. He’s so athletic. Basically, we need a reliable game plan for when the long ball isn’t working, just to get us back into some sort of rhythm. Someone who can create their own shot.

  2. Fundamentals. We turn the ball over too much, and we miss free throws. Portland gave us an opportunity to win, and we wasted it, largely because of turnovers and missed free throws.

  3. Our defense is a joke. It was excusable when the offense was flowing—we were giving teams more scoring opportunities because of our fast pace. But that wasn’t the case tonight, and we still gave up like 140.

That is all. Just salty and wanting to process. For what it’s worth, this game made me really want to beat the Heat in the future. They were celebrating like they’d just won a title as they defeated a .500 basketball team. Same goes for the Magic. Something about seeing white dudes with no natural rhythm dance and celebrate, just adds insult to injury.
