I’ve spent 10 hours today back and forth between debian forums, reddit, etc trying to figure how to get the godforsaken firmware up and running on my fresh install of Ubuntu 22.10 (mantic minotaur). The issue is that the OS will install perfectly, expect audio and wifi are NOT function (the wifi icon doesn’t even show up). Sure, I can connect to ethernet, install packages, etc., but trying to work with this Qualcomm chip has been a HUGE pain. I literally can’t seem to have it boot and recognize the firmare (the firmware is literally a .bin file im downloading from github and placing in a specific filepath in the root filesystem)
I have tried several different attempts, and nothing works. Basically, using dmesg | grep ath11k (ath11k seems to be the firmware type/name for the Qualcomm chip) shows me that it either cant find the “board.bin” file, no matter what I do.
Should I just give up and move on to bazzite? Could really use some help here…
