i was disappointed when the Spurs eventually had to trade Poeltl. Moving from Poeltl to Collins hasn’t been so bad
Paying a guy who can’t score outside 7 ft $20 mil just isn’t practical in this era. We moved on from him at the perfect time.
agreed. He isn’t the Spurs-y guy Pops likes on his roster
got him traded at a good market value. let’s see if the late round draft assets pay off
The Blazers are a bunch of idiots.
Setting the O/U on games Collins plays this season at 14.5.
Really hoping it’s the over because he’s really fun to watch.
Always been a skilled big man, always had solid passing feel and always been mobile. What is taking his game to another level, beyond thankfully being healthy now, is the fact he’s extended his range and he’s gotten stronger. He holds his position down low far better than he had in the past defensively, rebounding better as a result, and his three ball has gone from a theoretical to a reality. He could hit the midrange but not the 3. It was coming in with the Blazers and then he had the shoulder injury and it took him time to rediscover the shot.
With the 3 ball, he now has the gravity and the respect from the outside that opens up his passing skill. He’s always had a solid post game and the extra strength makes him a better force there and as a finisher. He’s an awesome fit with Wemby. Few teams have a 4/5 combo as mobile, as skilled, as versatile.
