Let’s say I asked you what kind player Cade, J.Williams, Jordan Hawkins will become and how their career would turn out. When projecting on young players do they you still care about what they did as college players once they already have a bunch of NBA games under their belt or do you ignore all the pre draft projections and adjust based on what you’ve seen in their early career
Personally I put zero stock into pre draft projections after about a year in the league. At that point they should have played far more games in the NBA than they did in college and it’s the most recent footage of them.
I ask this question though because I feel like many users here do the opposite. They cling onto pre draft expectations and draft position so often. Even if a player looks awful with no hope of being a true impact player I still see people defend them with college stats or for the sole fact they were drafted highly
Like if I wanted to evaluate Jalen Williams at this point I sure as hell wouldn’t be watching him at Santa Clara and whatever his pre draft projections were at the time were clearly off based on over a year of NBA play
