Recently converted from an all Ford family (14 Escape and newer F150/F250) to all Toyota (24 GHighlander Platinum HybridMax for me and 24 Sienna Platinum for the wife) so I’m new to the Toyota tech and maybe I’m missing something but…

Is it just me or does the remote start kind of suck? Especially for a service that I’m supposed to pay for?

The fob sequence is finicky. The fob range is abysmal. The app can be a bit glitchy. The 10 minute timer feels inadequate this far north.

And that’s all annoying but worse yet, it doesn’t seem to really do anything. It doesn’t turn on heated seat, heated steering wheel, or front/rear/mirror defrosters. The climate control doesn’t even really seem to warm up.

Am I suffering from some malfunction or is the remote start just bad?
