Kirk’s injury couldn’t have come at a worse time. What do they do? Trade Harrison Smith, Danielle Hunter, Jordan Hicks, KJ Osborn and others or do they sit and try to squeak into the playoffs, riding on the hopes of a combination of a QB coming off the streets and Jaren Hall? Colt McCoy has worked under O’Connell during his time in Washington. Could be an option.

But this is a critical moment; if Minnesota flounders and Smith, Hunter, Hicks, Osborn and others walk - do Minnesota fans look back like the Panther fans and wonder if they squeezed out a first for Hunter, how different it could be?

Having more ammo to move up to grab a talented QB might not be a bad idea. Or just having an extra first to get more talent is never a bad idea. Remember the Eagles had one bad season in the middle of all their really good seasons to reload.

I’d say trade everyone and punt to next season. Good draft to get a QB and a good year to start rebuilding.
