I get that starting strong is important and it’s easier to keep a lead than to catch up. But there’s so much a huge ego boost attached to the starting lineup.
Especially now that there’s more emphasis on bench play, I think it’s time to start doing away with the fixation on a starting lineup. Your 5 best players don’t always have to be spread across every position. Like there’s something wrong with spreading out your talent throughout the game.
Most importantly, closing the game out with a win is by far the most important. I not sure why even ego hasn’t made player rather be on the court when the game is on the line as opposed to the optics of starting first.
