The Nuggets GM said “be careful what you wish for” insinuating that Peyton Watson was a better player than Bruce Brown and that teams should be wary of Browns future endeavors. Not a good look for a GM to take shots at former players and fan favorites. So that was weird.
For comparison, Brown averaged 11.5 pts / 4.1 rebs / 3.4 ast / 1.5 TOV on 48% / 36% / 76% shooting splits in 28mpg.
Obviously early returns, but I’m not sure Watson is the guy that Booth thinks he is.
That GM won the title and swept the Lakers EASILY in the WCF there’s no such thing as a “close sweep”
Nuggets win the title last year without Bruce Brown, it would have been harder but they still win.

Everyone clowns on Barrett.
Preseason is all about experimentation for guys like Watson. The numbers mean little. It’s about the process. His defense was good in preseason which is where his bread will be buttered…it’s Braun who’s in line to assume a little more of the offensive load Bruce left…and Reggie Jackson.
