Recently I wanted to try modding The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the first time (never modded these games on Windows before).

I have the Deluxe GOTY Edition on Steam, as of right now I can start it up, play it, etc. all good.
So far I have gotten xOBSE script extender to work (I have to extract the files on the desktop first,
THEN from the xOBSE folder, I put the files into the Oblivion directory piece by piece).

After installing xOBSE successfully, I start up the game and everything works as expected.

However, any time I try installing Mod Organizer 2, I can not for the life of me get this to work. Step by step, it went like this:

I have installed protontricks, used flatseal to give it all the permissions it needs, installed Mod Organizer 2 4.3.3 from the github, execute the “./install.sh”, it installs somewhere in an empty folder (not in my oblivion directory, I have tried this via the directory and outside it, no difference), once it’s done the program says it “Successfully installed” and ready to run. Well…everytime I start up Oblivion via steam, it just quits. Not a start up, no launcher, no nothing.

I have looked into the folder and realized it creates a second (_OblivionLauncher.exe) BUT I realized that if I remove the underscore, this will make the game start up again, HOWEVER there is no instance of Mod Organizer running at all. I have no clue as to what I’m supposed to do. I am very nooby with Linux, so any explanation with step by step is greatly appreciated.
