So when my car is off, handbrake on and in gear I can spin the tailshaft, also when I change gears while driving, if I drop the clutch at all there is a clang that sounds like the slack is being taken up suddenly.

Struggling to find anyone with any similar issue and none of my hobby mechanic friends have any sort of useful advice. Cheers
