With my pelicans sadly racking up many injuries over the last year it feels like more and more top talents across the league are injured and many franchises are having their star players hurt (kawhi, KD, etc). Of course I feel like this is recency bias on my part and I’m curious if there has ever been an nba roster that had almost their entire starters and key backups injured? What do teams even do at that point? Just start signing a bunch of randoms?

I found this website though it seems you need a login to see the full data, and only goes back to 2012.

But Orlando had 449 games missed due to injury in 21-22 and 422 the season before, that’s gotta be up there lol.

u/YoungClint_TrapLord naturally being a Warriors fan remembers the season that I was gonna bring up myself! I’m pretty sure the Warriors endured 500+ games missed due to injury. It was 09/10 and Steph’s rookie year. Don Nelson retired after that year.

Imagine all the fans going to games with jerseys on and half of them probably didn’t even get to see their favorite player play. Damn. Good thing those fans that stuck around had it pay off for them
