As title says, I have a problem with my new gaming rig.
Everything was new, sealed, except GPU and SSD.
So the issue is that my motherboard BIOS is detecting only one memory ram module which is in A2 slot according to motherboard manual and 2nd module which is not working is in B2 slot(RGB is always on, green light, but not detected by BIOS or Windows).
I tried the following:
- reseated rams, pushed all the way in, different DIMM combination, tried to boot only with problematic 2nd ram module in all DIMM’s but motherboard post led is stuck on BOOT(orange light) and it won’t boot into BIOS.
- reseated CPU + CPU cooler, still nothing happened.
- removed PSU power cord, pushed power button for 20 second to clear the circuit, removed battery for 10 minutes, I pressed clear CMOS button from my motherboard for 10 seconds to reset BIOS.
- I updated BIOS to the latest version from ASUS website(1402), I even tried to downgrade BIOS but still the same.
- I checked CPU socket for bent pins when I reseated CPU but all was in their place, I loosen a bit the CPU cooler screws.
- cleaned DIMM’s slot with a soft brush.
- I tried with XMP 1, XMP 2, XMP Tweaked ON but still the same, I even tried different Overclock values but without any success.
I checked QVL list on the official website for memory ram supported by this motherboard with 13gen non-K i7 processors and yes this 2x16GB DDR5 Corsair Vengeance 6400MT/s, CL32-40-40-84, 1.40V was not on the list but the weird thing is that even if it’s not there it still detects 1 RAM module and the 2nd not.
Did anyone had this issue before and found a fix? It’s very annoying to see that RAM RGB light ON all the time but not detected in the BIOS so I can finally have 32GB and dual channel band.
It can be a faulty stick or is just compatibility problems?
In the end sorry for my english :) please help me with an advice!!! Thank you.
