So i just got emerald 1 yesterday on euw server and i peaked diamond 4 a couple of years ago before i quit playing.

But when i watch streams etc from master/gm/chall players they seem to have very good game knowledge (atleast compared to a dia 4 player). And yes they are more efficent with everything and have abit better mechanics and so on, but most of all there game knowledge and “planning” if you know what i mean, seem to be on a different lvl.

So my question is do all master tier+ players seek out information on the internet like for example strategy guides and so on to learn about the game? For me so far i have mostly played for fun but im considering trying to get to atleast dia 1. Also do you think its a requirement to kind of “study” better players and get education from them? Or have most of you master tier+ players just played for fun and still get grandmaster for example?

Look to improve at league it’s like anything else, everyone learns at different rates, different styles.

Obviously if you actively put more effort into learning league you’ll most likely see better results, the question is, for a game (Assuming it’s for enjoyment and no intention to go pro) would you enjoy doing the learning?

For me personally I just watch league a lot, from pro play to soloq to some guides, if I get really interested in something (Such as trundle top) I’ll even research further. But I primarily got to masters just watching what I enjoy + playing the game, barely ever did vod reviews.

Also Master + Tier ranges widely.

No definetly not trying to go pro or anything. It would just be nice to be master tier lvl adc. Yeah thats the thing thats all ive done so far too and im slowly getting better, but for me master+ feels like another level, so thats why i wounder if i can just keep on playing like i do now or if its sorta required to “study” more etc

No one can really say, depends on your aptitude for the game, I don’t think masters is some crazy level where you need to do loads of studying though (Low masters)

The gap between Emerald and master is usually understand tempo and showing up for skirmishes. I know cos i played 150 games in emerlad this season for fun basically then i got the urge to try hard and in 7 days got master first time ever and thats the only thing i focused on.

Tempo tempo tempo and trying to play things out consistenty so you can check what you did wrong easier. Also i win lane 50%-70% of the time so have control.
