Hello,

Settings:

[Sample Rate 48000] [Buffer Size 16 OR 32]

I have both a Scarlett Solo and 4i4 3rd gen. The 4i4 is brand new been sitting in the box after I thought my solo went defective. This issue only occurs with the game League of Legends and no other games that does/doesn’t have voice chat. Watching youtube and everything else works perfectly fine, so I think I narrowed the culprit down specifically to League of Legends, but just thought I’d get a second opinion.

I’m fairly certain it is an issue pertaining to League of Legends and not Focusrite, but might as well ask in case. Ever since the new patch for the video game League of Legends came out a week ago (PATCH 13.23), about 10-15 minutes into the match my Solo/4i4 would start buzzing where every sound would turn robotic and I cannot hear properly. However when I switch to my USB speakers (Logitech G560 Speakers) with my XLR Mic (Blue Yeti Pro) plugged into the Focusrite, no robotic issue occurs.

Thinking that my Solo failed, I switched to the 4i4. Same issue. I first tried a new type C to C and C to A power cable, didn’t solve the issue. I then ordered a new headphone cable for my Sony 1000x that has a screw-in 1/4" jack, didn’t solve the issue. So my only conclusion left is that it could be either an issue with all USB’s on my motherboard OR an issue with how Discord and League communicate.

I am using Discord to communicate with others, but League of Legends also has a in-game voice chat that I have auto-disabled. I believe it somehow has to due with an issue on how these two apps communicate to Windows. And Windows just gets confused and just robotize’s the audio. There’s no permanent way of disabling League Voice, it’s just a feature in the game. But at the same time, I use discord to communicate to friends so it’s frustrating that only League of Legends in particular turns my audio robotic and not any other games or apps.

I’ve never had this happen in the 8+ years of playing League of Legends with previous Focusrite products, so I believe specifically this patch messed up how Audio is communicated to Windows and other Voice Chat/Audio Apps somehow.

Note: I’ve also reinstalled NVIDIA Broadcast, Focusrite softwares, Reinstalled all of League of Legends and Reinstalled Discord. Audio drivers are also up to date from windows

Any help would be appreciated and if anyone could give insight if this caused an issue.
