This might be a really bad idea but after seeing the success of the show march this weekend in Brazil, I’m starting to see the merit of combining the north and south American leagues.

  • LCS viewership and revenue is on the decline but LLA and CBLOL haven’t been hit nearly as hard and are still thriving
  • Similar time zones so viewership isn’t effected
  • Neither LLA or CBLOL has a chance of improving given their current domestic competition level.

A format i was considering was as such: Teams are split into two conferences, the lcs one and the CBLOL another. Similar to college football, teams would play every team in conference once during the season but also play out of conference games. Playoffs would be top 8 and would function similar to worlds swiss stage. The top 4 teams from the region would then qualify for worlds (with 4th going to eu/na match). Broadcast crews would be kept available in every language but the main one for each match will be based on where it is hosted (i.e., cblol home game uses their broadcast team.

Overall i think this would be a fun change that could save lcs viewership and potentially help the region grow overall
