The Ray II is such an amazing watch at this price point it’s mind boggling. Yes it’s very Submarinerish in style but with a better looking handset. The lume is every bit as good as my Seikos if not a touch better. It’s thinner than an SKX, hacking movement, has after market support for bracelets, fitted straps, crystals, bezels and inserts. The only thing I’d personally change about it if I could would be to make it a date only and drop the day complication.

I have both the blue and black dial both in Strapcode bracelets(kind of a necessity if you ask me, the factory end links suck). If you don’t have one yet, why not? They’re still on Amazon for like $170. It’s a no brainer. The black dial could easily be my only watch if I could only afford just that.

If I had to buy a bracelet for mine today I would actually buy the Long Island Watch version. They have a more dramatic taper going from 22m at the end links down to 18mm at the clasp. That’s 2mm narrower than the strapcode. $10 cheaper too I believe.

I have both strapcodes and a bracelet from Long Island Watch. They appear to be manufactured in the same place. Screws appear to be identical in design. Just Marc specs his bracelets to taper more. More aesthetic and feels better on the wrist. You take your pic either the oyster style or jubilee style if you want a bit extra bling.
