I have a sneaking suspicion my Epson XP-7100 wifi printer is ‘phoning home’ or updating its firmware without my knowledge or consent.

I bought a 3rd party ink cartridge that has suddenly come up as ‘incompatible’ despite working fine for about 5 months up until now. I feel like the only explanation for this is that Epson are sneakily shadow-updating their firmware to restrict access to third-party cartridge manufacturers.

I obviously don’t want to take the printer offline - the whole reason we bought it was to wirelessly print and scan documents to the cloud - so is there some other way I can manually restrict which servers the printer can access, even if it means I have to restrict access to those servers across my ENTIRE home network?
