Part 1 synopsis: Took a little while to land on my subwoofer choice (REL) and once I did this thing showed up a few days earlier than expected. Didn’t have time during the week to setup this monster.

Part 2: This is pretty heavy–about 120 lbs or so. I could get the box into the designated room and the instructions for unpacking are very well done. They are present on the outside of the box so you can’t miss them. One person can do this alone if you don’t have to move it up or down stairs. Use a dolly and it won’t be too bad.
Setup is pretty easy, and I used the REL high level connection cable. I am hooking this up to a Coda integrated amp which also has a subwoofer output so down the road I may give that a try to see if I discern any difference. The sub is initially being mated to a pair of Dynaudio bookshelf speakers. I’ve been listening and adjusting the crossover and volume controls for a little under two hours. Playing different genres of music has been invaluable during this short time–from jazz to dream pop to classic rock to classical.
A couple quick observations:
· Build quality lives up to the hype…it has a deep gloss finish that will present reflections from nearby objects
· This has been remarkably easy to integrate with the Dynaudio bookshelf speakers
· Speed of the sub is really astounding; it’s mind-blowing how it keeps up just fine with the very fast Dynaudios, which have a much smaller 7 inch driver
