Tbh I don’t really see many people talking about the 911 Turbo, which to some is referred to as Porsche’s crown jewel. Any reason for the heavy bias towards the GT3?

Maybe cuz the Turbo S drivers are all either lawyers or doctors and are too busy for Reddit 🤣

    They’re Porsche’s halo car.

We’re more or less bought in to the brand to different levels, each of us. Mid engine has always had a special place in my heart. I’m not going to be any good around a track, so even a GTS 4.0 Boxster would be way more car than I could ever reasonably use. I’d rather have a more or less base cayman / Boxster that’ll make me happy all the way between 15mph and highway speeds.

    Because GT3 > something not GT3.

I can speak on both ends. I currently own a 997.2 Turbo.

I’ve put many laps on a GT3RS on the track and can definitely say it’s a track monster. It does everything superb out of the box. The only mod that is needed is the driver mod. That said, daily driving or even spirited driving on normal roads is not fun. It lacks a certainly level of composure out in public but that relentless, raw power is great for the track.

My turbo is great to drive to work, date night, occasional spirited back roads runs, but also fun to pull triple digits coming off an exit. It does all of that without an ounce of sweat. It’s capable at the track too but lacks the rawness of the RS. To me, and I’m heavily biased, the turbo is the “crown jewel” car for most.
