Is it just me, or are righties way more into the misdeeds of politicians and celebrities?
I know, but hey, it worked on /politics, so Im running something of an experiment. Seems to be working no worse than normal posts.
I might start posting stolen memes next, i dont know, maybe.
Is the story here that someone messed up an email, or that someone organized a POC party at their workplace?
They organized a POC party, which is racist.
I always find things like this tone-deaf.
I have a dream, a dream that one day our children will be judged not by content of their character, but by the color of their skin!
Or something like that, i guess
Three years after he gave that speach, he said that dream had become a nightmare.
Partially because it’s been misappropriated to defend systematic racism.
Don’t think you’re honoring him by saying this.
Thank you for the citation. Interesting read. Things have changed since the Vietnam War but there is always more progress to be made.
King cited persistent discrimination, poverty and the Vietnam War for his pessimism.
Vietnam was a hard time for all people especially black people.
https://www.dispatch.com/in-depth/news/2020/12/03/black-vietnam-veterans-systemic-racism-military/3627846001/ Despite making up only 11% of the civilian population, they accounted for 16.3% of the draft and 23% of combat troops in 1967.
I think people not from or adjacent to that era, don’t understand how much the war impacted society.

MLK was a strong advocate for the family. While he cheated on his wife all the time, that is their business but he strongly believed in a two-parent household.
I have to stay, he would have been an interesting person to meet. Not only was he passionate about what he was doing but he was an intelligent man. He was well spoken and inspirational. I always ponder if he had lived longer if he could have become president.
Cool, I don’t care about honoring him
Cool, then no real point in quoting him.
It was a humorous remark. One that you seem to have gotten extremely pissy over for no good reason
Was it funny?
