There is the bill itself: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202320240AB1840
This isn’t a new program and if you live in California and are not a migrant, you could have applied since the program started in 2016. This just adds the stipulation that migrant status should not disqualify an applicant.
That’s helpful information, they both look like they’ve got good pedigrees. I’m a bit surprised that none of the normal fact and bias checker sites have anything for Drop Site.
I don’t quite understand the down votes here: Israel is a topic with lots of strong opinions, and basic good media literacy is to do research on sources you don’t recognize. There’s been a lot of shoddy journalism to get clicks out there, and one should be critical of the information they ingest. The Ground News bot is a good thing.
I’m having trouble finding any kind of credibility grading for this source
The comparison to COVID is interesting. If people can smell the smoke, they’re literally breathing in the air that the smoker is breathing out, and one can definitely smell smoke from the next table over. Maybe that’s part of why lockdown didn’t work as well as we hoped.
Also, if you can smell it, it’s doing harm. Second and third hand smoke on your clothing is still real in outdoor spaces, and people should have the freedom to avoid that harm.
Sorry, I was referring to your comment, I’m not sure what you read
That’s incredibly subjective, and not true for many. A lot of people can tell if you’ve been smoking outside
Cool, then no real point in quoting him.
Three years after he gave that speach, he said that dream had become a nightmare.
Partially because it’s been misappropriated to defend systematic racism.
Don’t think you’re honoring him by saying this.
Is the story here that someone messed up an email, or that someone organized a POC party at their workplace?
Off by one, bud. You commented on the wrong post
Over half the article talks about Target’s pride sales and the backlash, and the article doesn’t say what changes Target would be required to make.
This is horrible journalism, and everyone getting worked up in this thread is going off of a headline.
I was just stirring the pot, and I love this response
