There’s an almost 100% certainty Embiid will be requesting a trade next summer as the Sixers do a total rebuild. There’s just absolutely no chance in hell that Morey would pass on Norman Powell in favor of Robert Covington’s expiring contract if he was still trying to win a championship with Joel Embiid. None. He stalled on trading Harden this long just for cap relief? The fact he reneged on resigning Harden in the first place was an early sign. Then no extension for Maxey, Tucker and Tobias are also free agents with no indication they’ll be staying. Anyone who thinks he’s not nuking the team after this Clippers trade is delusional. Your team has the MVP, one of the best centers in NBA history, and this clown GM of yours is starting over from scratch.

With PJ Tucker now gone you’re going to have the lowest payroll in the league. This is your entire team’s committed contracts for next season:

    1. Embiid $51m
    2. Maxey (Qualifying Offer) $6.2m
    3. Paul Reed $7.7m
    4. Flip Petrusev $1.9m

That’s it. That’s your entire roster so far. Four guys under contract. Every single person in the Harden trade is an expiring contract.
