We looked good to start the season but truth is that eventually we would stumble upon some issues - be it health related or just rotation/performance etc.
We looked good but IF something went wrong we were on a straight way to being a play-in team as it was most of the 213 era.
By not making the Harden trade our FO was risking becoming Dame’s Portland or DeMar’s Toronto - a great team on paper, a great team to start the season - but never enough to make serious waves.
By not making the Harden trade we would be one leg a championship contender and on the other a team a second from a rebuild.
And Idk about you but I’d rather put all my chips in one basket, shoot for the stars, and when it blows up start over - instead of lying to myself that this team was good enough and come empty handed for the 5th time… and two months later be in the same place were nothing changed but there’s nothing else to do but stay optimistic (or fool yourself)
Now this won’t be an issue. Now we are stacked. We went all-in. This has to work out.
And if not? You have a lot room to blow it up…
I’m holding back on my evaluation of the trade until it’s revealed what OKC received from the Clippers to ship the 2026 first round pick (the Clippers pick) to the Sixers.
