So right now my bookshelf speakers are on the bookshelf on isocoustic stands, 4 ft part (or 5, depending if you measure the distance from the center point of the speakers or the edges closest to each other). I sit 6 ft from the speakers.

Because of my room configuration, theoratically put my right speaker on a stand next to the bokshelf and pull the speakers to 6.5 ft apart (left speaker can’t move and reamin where it is now on the book shelf). This will, I think theoratically result better sound stage?

However I don’t know if I can’t height match 100% correct…I have to use some heavy books or something to put underneath one side to match the height by eye. Also, it means that would result in the two speaker having increased difference in terms of their respective surroudings (distance to the TV and the surface they are on, etc).

Before I start getting/making a pair of cheap stands — would the potential benefit be even worth an effort or the drawbacks are likely going to make it worse?
