Sooooooo I made a huge mistake this morning. At 5AM pitch black I tried to drive into my house. My parents keep one gate open and it was so dark (I wasn’t paying well enough attention) and was too close to the gate.

My mirror on the right side ripped off. Not broken just off and needs to be screwed back on. But the door handle cover and black piece ripped off and I scrapped my car. My dad popped it on but it’s loose and clearly needs to be repaired.

He says I should just take it to a body shop. I’m curious if I should go straight to the dealership. I can afford to pay a bit more. I just want it to be done right. I don’t want to be ripped off though. 😭

My 2008 corollas cruise would randomly turn off and on so I had it looked at the dealer. They wanted $400 for parts and $300 for labor. It was just the airbag sensor locking piece thing that was in the middle of the steering wheel with a plug. I got the part for $20 off amazon and a $15 steering wheel pulling kit and did it my self in an hour.
