Someone tried to steal my car last night and now I can't get the key in the ignition.

07 Chevy Impala SS (5.3L). Came to my car this morning and someone use a screw driver in the driverside lock and then tried the same with the ignition. Obviously didn’t work but now I can’t start it. Trying to figure out how to replace the ignition but all the videos online require having a working key. How do you get the ignition out if you don’t have a working key?
