I’m curious what forum members thoughts are regarding this. This is certainly the biggest title to be released exclusively digitally. I’m assuming lots of companies have been hesitant to be first to try this.
Both Wal-Mart and Best Buy are going to stop selling physical games sometime in 2024. Only reason for these stores to do that is due to the sales of physical copies don’t justify the costs needed for the space, meaning physical sales are decreasing a lot.
No; I don’t think Alan Wake 2 is going to get other publishers to ditch physical editions, rather its the consumers who are deciding to buy digital instead of physical to the point that physical doesn’t make any sense anymore, and a couple of stores already determined selling physical games isn’t worth it.
