Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Stay-in-place foundation in shade 1W1 bone (classified as “light with a warm undertone”) is my holy grail but I’m hoping to find a cheaper drugstore alternative, even though I know the finish wouldn’t nearly be the same.
Considering most drugstore foundations are sealed, I’ve had to just guess my shade by comparing a photo of Double Wear’s swatch to the swatch of the foundations I’ve tried. So far I’ve tried Elf’s Flawless Finish, Revlon’s color stay, L’Oréal’s True Match, and Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind and I cannot for the life of me find one that’s even remotely close to my shade, despite looking like an exact match online. I’m not sure if it’s that they oxidize or if the photos are vastly different from the actual shades (I’ve already compared a photo of Estée Lauder’s swatch to a picture I personally took of my bottle and it’s an exact match) but they all leave my face looking terribly dark and pink while my neck is light and yellow-ish.
Does anyone happen to wear the same shade and know their shade in ANY drugstore foundations? I’ve already tried findation but it doesn’t seem to be very accurate for me. I’m not sure if this is allowed but I’ve attached a few photos of the swatch of Estee Lauder’s to the swatches of a few foundations I’m wanting to try. Considering I’m clearly not the best at choosing a shade, I’m hoping someone would be able to give their input as to which shade may be a good match. Thank you in advance!!
