Alright, trade deadline’s done- so unless the Jets cut Dalvin Cook or something we aren’t gonna pick up an RB before the end of the season. And I’m fine with that since I love Gus, but with the discussion around the idea of trading a 2nd for Jacobs- how would you guys feel about paying one of these guys next offseason? Personally I’d be against it, as fun as it would be to have Saquon or Josh Jacobs, I think it’s better to resign Madubuike and invest the money in other positions. I’m honestly fine with bringing Dobbins back for cheap (very cheap). Btw by “paying them” I mean something like the contract Taylor just signed- 3 years $42 million

I’m generally against paying RBs big money. I’m of the philosophy that if you have a good O-Line and scheme, it seems easy enough to find serviceable talent at RB mid to late in the draft or even as UDFA.

Arian Foster, Lagarrette Blount, Danny Woodhead, Priest Holmes, Willie Parker, Phillip Lindsay, Austin Eckler, Peyton Barber, and Gus Edwards himself were all UDFAs

Plus, the wear and tear of that position is INTENSE. Lots of these big RB deals seem to bite teams in the ass when the player slows down and/or becomes less available from injury
