I don’t get why everyone’s upset. We’re gonna make play offs. We aren’t a few trades away from Super Bowl. Let Holmes keep drafting studs. Build out and lions are good for quite a few years. Don’t allow Chicago, Green Bay, and Minnesota to catch up. You all forget he’s drafted Hutchinson, st brown, Gibbs, Laporta, Joseph, and branch. I trust him and he’s thinking about longevity.

You overestimate how far we are away. The teams in our way are the 49ers and the Eagles. Neither team is a monolith. The 9ers just lost 3 straight to mediocre teams. The Eagles only have 1 win on us and they have problems of their own. Both of these teams have a much more difficult schedule, so the Lions have a really good shot at 1st round bye. A stud pass rusher helps us with our biggest weakness, and likely gets us over the hump. We won’t have this easy schedule next year, or Ben Johnson. I love Holmes but this was a missed opportunity.
