want to start by saying I really enjoy watching this team as is… it is so refreshing to see an offense with movement and to watch tyrese have the keys
that being said… picture this: Maxey Melton Tobias Siakam Embiid
off bench: roco batum oubre springer etc…
We have no shot at the celtics as currently constructed in my opinion. I do actually think we could beat the bucks in a series if embiid goes god mode and middleton doesn’t start playing to his old level
Siakam has a winning attitude and this lineup has wings who can at least not get completely burned by Boston’s wings. I like Maxey and Meltons chances vs the Boston backcourt. This sets up Embiid to take over the series and get us over the hump. Siakam has already proven he can be the 2nd or 3rd option on a championship squad provided the best player is playing at an mvp level… which is what the sixers would need no matter who the 2nd / 3rd option is. Plus, Siakam is 29 so his prime lines up with Embiid’s.
There isn’t anyone else realistically available who I think could put the sixers over the top. I like Derozan as much as the next person but I think this team needs to prioritize defense. The sixers could wait and see if something implodes with Bucks and Celtics and make moves in free agency but that is risky, feels like free agency rarely seems to work for teams that clear up cap space and wait…
Thoughts?
I don’t hate him, we need size and athleticism at the 4 pretty bad. Would like to know what Nurse thinks.
In what universe would we get siakam without trading tobi
