I don’t know if this has already been said in a thread or at least I have not seen it yet. But I think a big factor in this JJ situation and the Roquan situation last year is that we are partially hurt by having so much cap space. When a young player whose playing well sees how much available money we have, it’s not crazy to think that they can ask for more as well as feel betrayed when they don’t get offered that. Other teams at least have the argument in their pocket that they can only spare so much money bc they are close to the cap. If you disagree please let me know, this was just a stream of consciousness
