In light of Jaren getting his first start this week, some interesting facts about the former BYU teammates.

  • Jaren’s birthday is March 24, 1998 and Zach’s is August 3, 1999, making Jaren 497 days or 1 year and 4 months older.
  • Jaren graduated high school in 2016, two years before Zach in 2018, but went on a 2 year mormon mission (Zach is a degenerate and skipped his mission).
  • After both arriving at BYU in 2018, Zach wrestled the starting job away from incumbent senior starter Tanner Mangum and never looked back, keeping Jaren on the bench for 3 years
  • A full 5 years after graduating high school, Jaren finally got his shot in 2021, starting for two years after Zach left for the NFL
  • After all this, Jaren still had a year of eligibility remaining when he declared for the draft (he would have had this eligibility regardless of the covid year, as he was a medical redshirt in 2020)

Zach should go on a mission. Have him go to Africa and convince kids in villages that he’s the best QB in the league, even better than recent SB winner Jalen Hurts
