Said this back in Beijing after the Sinner loss, that Alcaraz hasn’t the levels he hit during Wimbledon since then, except once in the final set against Novak in Cincinnati. I said “Just because he can still beat 70% of the players playing at this reduced level doesn’t mean he’s still playing at his best”.

People downvoted me to hell. Now watch these last few tournaments. Between the hamstring injury, mental and physical burnout, imo, Carlos needs a break now more than ever. Frankly, I don’t even think he’s expected to do very well in ATP finals rn with his recent form, just playing well and maybe reaching Semi-finals will be good enough to me.

Sinner, Medvedev, Novak are clearly at a much higher level rn. Even Hubi is ramping it up rn, sucks that his chances of making ATP finals are so reduced rn. Rune’s level is also nowhere near his early season rn.
