My laptop was working just fine until I tried using a USB hub, turned out to be faulty.
After that, 2 of 4 USB ports had stopped working.
It was clear that it had caused some damage.
In the ensuing days, the 2 working ports stopped working and the *other* two, previously non-working ones, started working (super weird)
It was clear at that point that it weren’t the USB ports having an issue, rather, somehow the USB controller was affected by that faulty USB hub (which I had thrown away by now)
I think is because the USB hub had its own source of power and it somehow fried or at least flipped some ‘bytes’ in the laptop’s USB controller.
Is there a way a way to hard-reset the laptop’s USB controller?
