I recently acquired an ASUS X99-A II motherboard and added an NVMe SSD for my server’s boot drive. Currently, I have one graphics card for display and two HBA cards integrated into the motherboard.

As I was going through the manual, I discovered that certain CPU limitations affect the availability of PCIe lanes on the board. The CPU I’m using is a high-end Intel Xeon XEON E5-2680 V4. It appears that one of my HBA cards is not recognized. According to the motherboard manual, the last two PCIe slots should be disabled after installing an NVMe SSD. However, my HBA card is not in those slots.

I’m at work right now, so I’m seeking some initial insights. I plan to investigate further and check the BIOS on the motherboard tonight. Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
