So I got the dreaded driver restraint system fault in traffic on my 22 m340i and I called all of the Houston area dealers to set up an appointment for diagnosis. Only a couple have availability this week, none of them have loaners available until the END OF NOVEMBER. Wild that when I had a F150 I got better service support.

Just a little annoyed because only about a month ago I had to go to the dealer for the idrive system crapping out on me while I was driving and there was a rattle on my back deck lid. Took it to the dealer for the software update and they said it was going to take a few days, again no loaner available. They also never took care of the rattle to get the car back to me sooner.

I’m normally pretty laid back and understanding that shit happens especially with electronics. But I also feel that I shouldn’t be having these issues with a car that’s less than 2 years old with only 23k on the odometer.

gotten a flat tire yet?? i’m assuming you have run flats.

i have. twice. in the same week. almost $1000. to replace those two tires and then realized that since i didn’t budget $1000/mo. for new tires i’d be better off replacing all four tires with regular tires and buying a spare and a jack. all in, about $3000. with less than 5k on the odometer.

Dude I got a flat due to a roofing nail within my first month. Luckily the car was specced with a donut and run flats so I was able to get that sorted, but what an ordeal. I drove to the dealer on the donut, they said they needed to order the tire, took two weeks to come in (whole time I’m driving on the donut), drive back to the dealer (an hour away), and got it all sorted under the wheel and tire coverage I have.
