I’m now seeing takes that Fultz was never the PG of the future for this team. Rewriting history in front of our eyes. I’m seeing takes that Cole must start over him. That Suggs is better and must replace him at the 1. 4 games in, all the chatter seems to be about Fultz’s lack of shooting. As opposed to Suggs, Wendell, or Paolo’s miserable shooting percentages. Fultz and his shooting woes were fine last year with Gary Harris in the lineup. But with Suggs they are clearly exasperated and he is taking the blame for it.

My prediction is that Fultz will end up being the scapegoat by Magic fans for this team’s failure. So my question is now, where should we trade him then?

If anything the blame is on the GM for building a team full of non shooters and then drafting another guard that can’t shoot. The team isn’t setup to win with this roster unfortunately.

When we were 2-0 I called this with how bad the offense looked. I said that Cole would take the starter spot, and eventually earn the most minutes at Guard. People said I was on crack.

Newsflash, the higher scoring team wins. Cole can score, but he needs to rotate better on D to get those starter minutes. The part I got wrong was Harris would lose the most minutes. Harris probably needs more minutes too, so we can create space for Paolo and Franz who are getting focussed on by defenses. The odd man out is Fultz, because teams are daring him to shoot and he can’t, and his minutes need to come down because it kills spacing.

I try not to pay much attention to the mouthbreathers in the ‘Orlando Magic- Fan Group’ FB group, since their takes are so reactionary and poorly thought-out.
