I completely understand that losing a second or a third isn’t mortgaging the future but Holmes and Campbell have talked about the plan they have been sticking to since they started. They don’t believe in the “strike while the iron is hot” plan… yet at least. They want to dominate this division, and they believe sticking to their plan will do that.

They believe they can handle coordinator loses and I do too because Dan has shown an incredible ability to spot coaches and remove ones that don’t work.

They can handle losing players because they can replenish through the draft and have good drafting acumen.

If they can hire well and replace well, they will be able to handle harder schedules. I know there is an easy schedule and the Lions have the best coordinator on offense they have ever had. But good regimes can handle the losses and frankly I wouldn’t want a regime that crumbles at not having an easy schedule or the loss of a coordinator.

It’s not like its not an option to go all in but its not the time to for this regime. Teams usually do that at the end of their window when their roster is mostly complete and just need a few pieces like the niners & eagles. Even with chase, the lions roster and depth are not at those teams level. So why did the seahawks make a move? How much longer is pete carroll gonna coach? It makes sense why they needed to make a move now. The Lions window just opened and still need more than a few pieces. Win now and sustainability aren’t mutually exclusive but there is a right time to go all in.

The success we have seen is something we have not seen for a long time and I get why that scares people. But the way this regime built from the ground up, the way they lead gives me confidence they can handle tough situations. Dan’s interview before MNF gives me so much confidence in Dan’s leadership

Yes it is fine to be disappointed in them for not making a move or a move they made. Hell I wasn’t a fan of how they handled the kicking position or “the position value” draft. But each year they have stuck to their plan and have grown. But I think many don’t think they can replicate this success or growth when it gets tougher. What do you think?
