Hi guys, as the rest of the world is running behing the llm and the SD space, i was a bit lagged behind due to hardware constraints, till now i tried models using the Google free tier colab, but now am planning to buy a gaming laptop for the sole purpose of AI stiffs. Can you guys suggest me a good specs for the purchase and I have cheery picked 2 of them,
-
Asis Rog strix g16 with i9 13th gen and 4060 8gb vram, and 16 9rn32gb ram.
-
Lenovo legion 5i pro with i9 13th gen and 4060 8gb vram and 16 to 32 gb ram.
Both of the above lands perfectly under my budget. The main concern for me is that weather I should go for ryzen of Intel, as Intel offers high performance and high efficiency cores where ryzen till now only high performance ones. Does this efficiency cores in Intel decreases the model performance in any way, if I use the CPU mode for llms.
My use cases are: run as large as possible model sized llms and currently available and future image generation models like stable diffusion.
If someone in the subreddit has similar spec machines please commend below your opinion and how practical the llms has been with the above specs.
