Took my 2015 Mustang to get some mandatory inspections done and they stated it failed due to “the top seal on the steering rack is leaking and pinion seal is leaking (class 2.5)”. They quoted $2.5k to fix the steering rack and $1k to fix the pinion. Is the quote an accurate statement or should I try to get a second opinion elsewhere? If it is accurate, I’m wondering if it’s worth it to pay considering the vehicle is almost 10 years old as I’ve been thinking about trading it next year at the 10 year mark.
