So, I am a very long time fan. I grew up in Kansas City in the 80s, but have lived on the West Coast for 25 years now.

I have never been to a division game at Arrowhead, but had the chance to go to the game in Denver last weekend. Met my son, his girlfriend and my son-in-law there and we went. (I know, terrible luck.)

So, there was a LOT of trolling of KC from the Denver media crew. There was a whole video at the beginning that showed various Denver players in a hype video and culminated in a player planting a Broncos flag/flag pole through a shattered Chiefs helmet.

Throughout the game, whenever a play went poorly for the Chiefs, they would do replays that focused on the reactions of the KC players, or made them look silly. An example, they replayed Mahomes’ disappointed reaction to the Skyy Moore end-zone drop like 3 times.

Then, as the players were talking on the field after the game, they played Shake it Off by Taylor Swift.

So, first - is this normal? Do the Chiefs troll division rivals like that at Arrowhead? None of that kind of thing makes it on to the TV broadcast.

Second, does anyone else find this in poor taste? (FWIW - I had this reaction at the beginning of the game, before it went to shit like it did - it’s not just sour grapes.) I honestly don’t blame Broncos fans for being hyped about winning the game. But I find the official media trolling to be . . . ugly? Mean-spirited? Over the top and unjustified as they are now 1-16 against us over the last 8 years? Immature?

Dunno. I like rivalries and don’t mind shit-talking, but I also like sportsmanship and respecting a rival. In all honesty, our team and players have shown the Broncos more than they deserved over time.
