This tweet was posted a few days ago and I thought it was a good sign. It has different context now. I can see a few possibilities:

  1. The front office is so disconnected they don’t realize Rasul is a team leader.
  2. The front office doesn’t value Rasul’s leadership and prioritized cap savings over locker room benefits and on field production. I think this is the correct answer because they also did this getting rid of Z.
  3. The front office made the trade BECAUSE Rasul has been a team leader in a silencing dissent move.

Ultimately I’m interested how people analyze the trade, considering what the Packers get back (moving up from 5th to 3rd round plus ~$5 million cap savings), impact on the field and locker room, and if this move has broader significance?

To help try and get out of cap hell and to gain a draft pick that could be incredibly useful to move up in a loaded draft in 6 months. Goodness.
