I’m a sports/event photographer, and I recently got myself into a pickle… The videographer(my brother in law) has a contract (screenshots of text messages laying out the details) for photo and video with a highschool in our area. He took me on to cover all photos for him (no contact as far as I am aware). I snap the photos then after the game I hand over my sd cards so he can edit and post them the next day. This hasn’t been a problem till recently when I started getting really good… (I’ll attach a few pictures below) I’ve started to see my photos tagged with his name pop up on our local football Facebook page that recognizes photo of the week. I’ve won a collective of 3 times, two of which are marked with his name (the last two attached). Usually when he posts, it’s only on instagram, facebook, and to a free to download gallery in his pixeset collection. He submitted some to the local football page before but tagged me as the photographer and himself as the editor, but this has not happened since week 1. He does tag me on the instagram posts and has invited me as a collaborator a few times.

What should i do with this new information? Are the photos still technically mine? What should i do to protect myself in the future?

Thanks in advance 🙏
