Dariq Whitehead was taken as the 22nd pick in the NBA draft by the Brooklyn Nets. In high school, he was a 5 star recruit across the board even earning the Mr Basketball Player of the Year in 2022, with many expecting him to land as a top-10 lottery pick once he entered the NBA. However, due to a foot injury during his freshman Preseason at Duke, Whitehead was forced to slow down his play and have a less than stellar year at Duke.

During this time however, Whitehead worked to become a very solid 3 point shooter averaging 8.3 Pts and 1 Ast on 52.8 eFG%. A low risk / high reward pickup by the Nets in my opinion, the fact that he’s already working 2-2 before the start of the season is very promising.
