I’m going to an event in the Boston area this November weekend, and am considering renting a managers EV special from Hertz. It claims to be a car with a 250 mile range and my total driving should be in the neighborhood of 130 - 150 miles, however I’ve never used an EV before and don’t think I’ll have an opportunity to charge it while there. Am I safe, or is this cutting it too close to running out of power? FWIW, I’ll most likely be using the heater the whole time along with the music, navigation, and maybe charging 2 phones.

Well we’re from FL so 70 degrees is uncomfortably cold and 70 mph is below the speed limit of our highways 🙂, so I’d expect lots of heater usage and a tendency to drift toward 80+ mph if I’m not really careful… There’s no reason to be flooring the acceleration though.

Can all cars they’d rent get a decent charge from a 5 minute stop or is that only Tesla? If there’s a nearby functional station, 5-10 minutes isn’t bad, but much more than that and I’ll have a tired, stressed, and angry wife to deal with lol
