My money is on Chris Paul. He has all the hallmarks of a great coach. He’s an undersized guy who accomplished more than his physical stature would suggest he was capable of accomplishing through solid fundamentals and high basketball IQ. He’s also a nototiously good communicator on the court. He’s made every team he has joined better. He doesn’t commit a lot of turnovers, which coach’s love to harp on. And he seems to relish teaching new guys and seems to have universal respect amongst players. He’s also annoying as hell, which also seems to be a key trait for good coaches. He’s one of the few players I think could make the leap from playing directly to head coach without missing a beat.

Who are your current players who you think could end up being Hall of Fame coaches one day?

Sorry about being THAT guy but… LeBron. The number 1 thing NBA players gush over Bron about apart from his longevity (a decent characteristic of a coach too) is his IQ. He’s addicted to basketball and reads the game better than anyone and his stats prove that. On top of that, players would probably love to play under Bron and learn from him. Of course, he is not going to coach in the NBA after he retires and will likely go the Magic route and either become a GM or owner of Cleveland or Miami or something. The question was who has the best chance of making HOF, and if LeBron coached it’d probably be him
