So, I played League since 10 years, with a lot of breaks. Now I came back to it since a month, I went in my first ranked games only today. 2W 2L.

I noticed some problems that I’m having, playing Top Lane especially.

I can’t find the right balance between farming and trading. I always prioritize farming, but I tend to trade if they do. I see that everytime I trade, I risk to die at very early levels, even lvl1.

I played Gwen and I had Darius, I struggled a lot. I played Kench vs Garen (don’t wanna talk about Garen state…) and same thing happened. According go OP.GG, Kench should counter Garen, but the very first trade we did he almost killed me. Same at lvl6.

So, in order not to feed them, I play very safe, but I lose a lot of minions, I find myself even 40/50cs behind my opponent. In this way, he free farms and gets big anyway.

Could it be something based on the meta? I don’t think I play these stupid meta champions, like Garen.

Gotta say that both games that I lost it was because other lanes fed so hard (first game: my bot lane was 0/3 - 0/6 at 10 minutes. Second game: Briar [yeah, BRIAR] ended 3/13) but my opponent was kinda big, and I was kinda “okay”.

I would like to have more impact, win more trades and farm better. I don’t farm a lot because whenever I reach a minion range to kill him, the opponent starts trading and, as I said, I lose every trade.

If you have can help with some advices it would be much appreciated.

p.s. I’m doing my placements and I’m playing in high gold/plat elo, as far as I can see.
